Yakusuke Kakushidate (
Personality[]
Yakusuke is relatively normal person. He's a nice man who gets nervous very easily, due to all the times he was accused. Due to this, whenever people see him sweating, they assume it's because he is responsible for some crime. Because he understands how terrible it feels to be accused for something, he cannot bring himself to every admit to suspecting someone else. This makes Kyouko Okitegami think of him as kind.
He feels admiration towards Kyouko for helping him so often, and does his best to help her. Since he cares about her safety, when he saw that her work was having a negative effect on her health, he went against her wishes and made her forget the job (although she figured out the case anyway). Kyouko has stated that even if she forgets him, she instinctively feels trust for him.
Appearance[]
Yakusuke is a very tall man, which may be one of the reasons why people always suspect him. He has short brown hair (black in the drama) and brown eyes.
Background[]
Yakusuke has been plagued by the misfortune of getting involved in incidents ever since he was a child, and he is always suspected by everyone in all cases. Because of this, Yakusuke has never been able to keep a job, and so he lives as a freeter, becoming employed in all kinds of different jobs and living off of the few salaries he gets, as well as off of the severance pay.
During his constant involvement in all kinds of cases, he met Kyouko Okitegami, and has relied on her to prove his innocence many times.

- Yakusuke's last name is written with the characters for "concealed" and "building".
- Yakusuke's first name contains the character for "misfortune", which he believes is the reason for his terrible luck. An alternate reading of his name can also mean "dependence" and "kindness".
