Sumiyuri Academy (澄百合学園(すみゆりがくえん), Sumiyuri Gakuen) is a private academy owned by RULE in the world of the Zaregoto Series, and the main setting of Hanging High School: The Nonsense User's Disciple.

Information

It maintains a facade of an exclusive all-girls academy for the elite members of society, but its true function is that of a facility for breeding soldiers and assassins from regular girls. Due to its cutthroat nature, it is known among the student body as Hanging High School (首吊高校(くびつりこうこう), Kubitsuri Kōkō). It is most closely managed by the Origami family, with the position of dean being held by Noa Origami.

After Ichihime Yukariki killed Noa and all the other staff members, the school was eventually abandoned, with all of the surviving students relocated at another facility.

Uniform

Sumiyuri Academy's unifrom has a peculiar sailor uniform design. The top is dark gray in color, with a yellow tie and six white buttons on the sides. It ends above the waist line, exposing the midriff, and the cuffs of the short sleeves are decorated with a white cross pattern. The skirts are short, with the same dark gray color, and feature three white buttons on the right side of the skirt. The skirt also features multiple vents, which are tied together with black strings in a cross pattern. Most characters shown wear dark gray kneehigh stockings, with a similar vent with a cross pattern, which seemingly connect to the footwear. Tamamo Saijou is instead shown to have a thigh high pair of the standard gray stockings, which she wears above her own green polka dot leggings.

When Jun Aikawa wears the uniform, she wears a red tie instead of green, and her shoes feature high heels. The Nonsense User wears the same standard uniform, except for the top, which appears to be a winter variation, lacking the midriff exposure and featuring long sleeves.

According to Tomo Kunagisa, Sumiyuri Academy's uniforms are a very valuable article of clothing for collectors of high school uniforms, due to the difficulty of an outsider obtaining them.
