The Story (物語(ものがたり), Monogatari), also referred to as 'fate', is a concept in the world of the Zaregoto Series, introduced in Cannibal Magical: Niounomiya Siblings, Masters of Carnage. It is Takashi Saitou's personal theory on the structure of the universe, a fatalist view that determines that the course of the Story has already been determined, and so free will is only permitted in inconsequential actions, but in any cases where an event is 'written' to occur, it will definitely occur, even if the date is slightly changed. Thus, the story can only be accelerated or slowed down but never changed.

Back Nozzle

Back Nozzle (バックノズル, Bakku Nozuru) is a subconcept of the Story which conveys that all meaningful events to the Story will take place, even if the exact time changes. For example, even if you were to miss a meeting, that meeting would still inevitably happen some amount of time later. This is the phenomenon that dictates that even if you procrastinate on something that must be done now, you still end up having to do it at some point.

Jail Alternative

Jail Alternative (ジェイルオルタナティブ, Jeiru Orutanatibu) is a subconcept of the Story which conveys that all information that has importance to the Story will be conveyed, even if the means change. For example, if you miss a meeting with someone, you will inevitably meet someone else who will convey to you the same information and lead to the same consequences. This is the phenomenon that dictates that if something still must be done now, then someone will end up doing it in your stead.

Dying Epilogue

Dying Epilogue (ディングエピローグ, Dingu Epirogu) is a subconcept of the Story which coveys that the Story has a final convergence point toward which everything leads. Even if the flowchart extends infinitely, it will all lead to that one point. The primary motivation of Takashi Saitou is to see this Dying Epilogue,
