The Style Guide is a resource detailing the general style of the NISIOISIN Wiki.
Romanization[]
The romanization system of Japanese used on this wiki is Revised Hepburn romanization, with one difference: instead of the use of a macron on elongated vowels, such as "おう", "うう" or "いい", the full vowel is written out, as such: "ou", "uu", "ii".
The italicized phonetic pronunciation at the beginning of page names will be written with standard revised Hepburn instead.
Titling[]
- Character pages' titles should be made up of the characters' names, written in western naming order (first name before last name).
- Book pages' titles should be the English translation of the original book title, regardless of whether it was ever officially published in English (Note: novels of the Monogatari Series are an exception to this, as their Japanese titles are overwhelmingly more well-known.)
- Anime pages' titles should be the English translation of the original anime's title (note: seasons of the Monogatari Series anime adaptations are once again excluded). If the anime's title is identical to a book's title, the anime page should include a "(anime)" at the end of the title.
- Manga volume pages' titles should be the English translation of the manga series' title, followed by a "Vol. (number)".
- Anime episode pages' titles should be the English title of the anime, followed by "Episode (number)".
- Chapter episode pages' titles should be the English title of the manga series, followed by "Chapter (number)".
Images[]
Images on the NISIOISIN Wiki should all come from official sources, either from the media itself, promotional material or art by the official illustrator of the work.
- Character infobox images should have a 8:13 aspect ratio. Color images should be chosen over black and white images whenever possible. In the case of anime images, whenever possible, they should come from promotional artwork as opposed to direct shots from the show itself.
- Images for the Hex template should be sized 223x223 pixels.
Image Naming[]
For organizational purposes, image titling should fit the following format:
- Character infobox images: [CharacterFirstName]_[anime/manga/novel/drama].png; if the character has multiple images from a certain type of media, the file will also contain a number at the end, to separate it from the other images.
- Character design images: [CharacterFirstName]_[design].jpg
Table Design[]
Tables on the NISIOISIN Wiki should follow this set style:
- The entire table is to be enclosed by a 2 pixel wide, black border with angular corners, followed by a 4 pixel gap, with the table's external border a 1 pixel wide, black border.
- The table headers should have black backgrounds, with 2 pixel wide, white borders separating them.
- The table sections should have a white background, with 2 pixel wide, black borders separating them.
Example:
Header | Header |
---|
Header | Header | Header | Header |
---|---|---|---|
Section | Section | Section | Section |
Content | Content | Content | Content |
All tables should follow this general aesthetic, although exceptions may be made depending on the type of table made.
