The 6th Box: I Won't Tell You Not to Lose (第(だい)６箱(はこ)　負(ま)けるなとは言(い)わん, Dai 6 Hako: Makeruna to wa Iwan) is the sixth chapter of the Medaka Box manga series and its first arc, the Student Council Executive arc, written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Akira Akatsuki. It was collected in the first volume.

Summary

Nabeshima explains the rules of the match, giving Zenkichi a handicap, him being able to win by just scoring one point, while Akune has to earn 10 points to win. As the two taunt each other, Zenkichi says that they should have told him he didn't have to accept this stupid match, to which Medaka responds that, while she won't tell him not to lose, she won't allow him to run from a fight. Thus, the match begins, and Zenkichi judges that the first to make a move will win, going after Akune. Akune states that he actually respects Zenkichi for sticking with Medaka for so long, but then immediately throws him to the floor, stating that everything outside of his work ethic is worthless.

While spectating the match, Nabeshima comments on how boring Akune's perfect genius move was. Medaka asks if Nabeshima hates geniuses, to which she agrees, stating that her motivation for practicing judo is to trample on geniuses with her hard work as the Foul King, claiming that the geniuses should stick with geniuses and the normal people with normal people, and thus Akune should join Medaka while Zenkichi joins the judo club. In response, Medaka states that geniuses don't exist, which confuses Nabeshima.

With 9 points, Akune is almost victorious, and Nabeshima thinks that this will prove that geniuses exist, and that she will train Zenkichi to be capable of beating Akune. Betsuhei Jounan remarks that it's surprising that Zenkichi never tried to cheat, which is common for beginners. Akune then commends Zenkichi's guts in addition to his hard work, for standing up each time after being defeated, and then resolves himself to defeat him. Zenkichi thinks to himself that it's hopeless, and that it might not be so bad for Akune to stick with Medaka, but then she speaks up, telling him once again that she won't tell him not to lose, but then telling him to win, saying that she'd cry if he wasn't by her side. Determined to not see Medaka cry, Zenkichi gathers his strength and flawlessly performs a two-handed tackle, to the surprise of everyone watching, earning him the win, Akune admitting his loss. In disbelief, Nabeshima wonders how Zenkichi performed the move so well, to which Medaka once again reiterates that geniuses don't exist, adding that all there exist are people who try earnestly, and telling Nabeshima that there's no difference between them. Nabeshima then tells Medaka that, in addition to being good at judo, Akune's handwriting is really good.

Later on, Zenkichi tells Shiranui the story of what happened as they walk side by side, telling her that Medaka ended up choosing Betsuhei Jounan as the next captain of the judo club because he was the only one brave enough to challenge her. Shiranui asks what happened to Akune, and Zenkichi responds that he reportedly quit the judo club after his loss. As the two walk into the student council room, however, they find Akune undressing. He explains that Nabeshima told him to quit the judo club and try to make Medaka his, giving him an inspiring speech. Thus, Akune joins the student council as the secretary.
