The 15th Box: Butting Heads (第(だい)１５箱(はこ)　相容(あいい)れねえ, Dai 15 Hako: Aiirenē) is the fifteenth chapter of the Medaka Box manga series and its first arc, the Student Council Executive arc, written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Akira Akatsuki. It was collected in the second volume.

Summary

As Shiranui and Zenkichi are discussing what to eat while walking home, Harigane Onigase appears out of nowhere and declares that eating in the hallways is against school rules, calling out Shiranui as a repeat offender and preparing to take her in. Zenkichi tries to stop her, but Shiranui pushes him into her, thanking him and running away after advising Onigase to take care of the bigger threats before worrying about someone like her. As Zenkichi tries to convince Onigase to let Shiranui off easy, the two realize that Onigase's cuffs locked on both of their wrists, chaining them to each other. Zenkichi asks for the key, but Onigase keeps trying to deflect the question until he realizes that she doesn't have it on her. Thus, the two set off for the disciplinary committee room where the key is, mindful of all the stares. As Onigase explains that she was out looking for the Mokkin Combo, a duo of delinquents wielding wooden and metal bats respectively, when she ran into Shiranui and Zenkichi, the two bump into Medaka.

Medaka wrongfully assumes that they're trying to mend the strained relationship between the disciplinary committee and the student council. After she is told the true situation, Zenkichi asks Medaka if he could pick the locks on the cuffs to spare them the trip to the committee room. Medaka attempts to do so, first locking the cuff to Zenkichi's and her wrist to understand the mechanism, but is then unable to unlock it, thus also getting stuck to them. As the three then head to the committee room together, Medaka keeps being distracted by people in trouble who need her help. While frustrated by her antics, Onigase can't help but notice how popular Medaka is, everyone calling out to her happily. When Zenkichi comments on the difference between when it was only him and Onigase, the girl notes how few people ever greet her, and how every friend she had left her when she joined the committee. Zenkichi tries to console her, but Onigase only looks down on the student council for "needing to flatter students". Then, the trio are ambushed from either side by the Mokkin Combo, who threaten to attack them with their bats. Onigase offers her protection, but Zenkichi and Medaka are unconcerned, the former kicking the wooden bat and the latter kicking the metal bat, breaking both and sending the delinquents running away screaming. As Onigase stands there in disbelief, when looking down at the broken handle of the metal bat, she asks Medaka if she could just break the cuffs, since she could break a metal bat, to which Medaka responds that she didn't realize it was okay to break them, baffling both Zenkichi and Onigase.

In the disciplinary committee room, Fue Yobuko gives her report to the head of the committee, Myouri Unzen, saying that she believes they should punish Onigase for her successive failures. Myouri responds that he feels bad for her, but also that he is more interested in Medaka, asking Yobuko what she thinks of her. Yobuko answers that she seems like a saint, to which Myouri comments that the saint is their biggest problem, asserting that "mercy and truth are like oil and water" as he stabs his handheld game console with his finger, breaking it.
