The 13th Box: Do You Do This With Everyone? (第(だい)１３箱(はこ)　誰(だれ)にでもこういうことするの？, Dai 13 Hako: Dare ni Demo Kōiu Koto suru no?) is the thirteenth chapter of the Medaka Box manga series and its first arc, the Student Council Executive arc, written by Nisio Isin and illustrated by Akira Akatsuki. It was collected in the second volume.

Summary

As Zenkichi grumbles about having a lower position in the student council than the members who joined after him, he walks into the student council room to find Mogana Kikaijima undressing. After beating him up, she asks him for money, which he refuses, telling her that it's her fault for changing without locking the door, and that he didn't even want to see her naked, which only makes her more upset, and she asks for a bonus for being mean to him. After annoying him enough, he gives in, and she is satisfied, although the amount she charges is absurdly cheap.

Kikaijima asks where the computer is, wishing to start working, but Zenkichi tells her that they don't have one, handing her an abacus instead, explaining that Medaka can perform complex arithmetic in her head and has no need for one. She is initially shocked, but accepts it and starts working. As they both perform their duties in silence, each one feels awkward about not knowing how to initiate a conversation. Feeling pressured, Kikaijima finally makes the first move and tries to force a conversation about the weather, which doesn't work. Zenkichi then realizes his mistake at not continuing the conversation and, in a forced attempt to compliment her, accidentally ends up coming across as lecherous, telling her that she has a great body, which earns him an abacus thrown to his face and another absurdly low fee for the sexual harassment.

As the both continue to lament their awkward situation, each convinced that the other hates them, they wish for anyone else to come in, Shiranui suddenly waltzes in, calling out to Zenkichi before noticing Kikaijima's presence and introducing herself. She then showcases a picture taken of the moment when Medaka kissed Kikaijima, causing her extreme embarrassment. Shiranui offers to give it to her, but then reveals that she took 300 shots from different angles, much to Kikaijima's dismay. However, Zenkichi reaches out and pats Shiranui's head as he tells her not to mess with the new member too much, offering to treat her to food later, to which the small girl backs away, leaving the room. Zenkichi apologizes for his friend's mischievous behavior, and when Kikaijima asks her what the mysterious girl is really like, he resolutely states that she's his friend, and that's all he needs to know.

Hearing that, Kikaijima inquires about Medaka, asking him if she does what she did to her with everyone. At this, Zenkichi reveals that he told her to stop doing it as often when they entered elementary school, but that all of her classmates lost their first kisses to Medaka. Kikaijima asks why she loves people so much, explaining that, in her experience, everyone abandoned her when she no longer had any money, which made her believe that the world is only give-and-take. Zenkichi asks if she thinks of her relationship with Tanegashima and Yakushima in the same way, which she denies, stating that they're like family to her. Zenkichi retorts that, in Medaka's eyes, all of humanity are her family, and she can't help liking them.

Hearing that, Kikaijima remembers being approached by Medaka as she was loitering around the suggestion box, and being offered the position of treasurer for the student council, which was her first time being genuinely asked for help. However, she then suddenly realizes that she is having a normal conversation with Zenkichi, and becoming self-conscious, she decides to use the same line that Medaka had used on her, telling him that she's fallen for him and trying to kiss him, stunning Zenkichi. At that same time, Medaka and Akune arrive back from a job, and walk into the council room to find Kikaijima straddling Zenkichi and trying to kiss him, the boy attempting to hold her back. As both of them misinterpret the situation, Zenkichi, flustered, attempts to resolve the misunderstanding.
