Kurori Douno (童野(どうの) 黒理(くろり), Dōno Kurori) is a character from the Sekai Series. She is a third year student at Kazusaen Private Academy, a member of the Ufology Club and the childhood friend of Rouya Gakemura.

Personality

Kurori's most notable trait is her compulsion to always lie at all times, no matter the circumstance and for seemingly no reason. Her insistence on this has even lead to incidents such as Choushi continuously calling her by the wrong name for a long time after they met, thanks to Kurori lying about it. Even so, in most cases, her lies usually boil down to her saying the opposite of what she thinks, thereby making her predictable. This habit landed as one of the Three Great Weirdos of Kazusaen Academy, the general student population not wanting anything to do with her. Her quirk is infamous enough that comparing others to her when they lie has become a local saying for the students of the school.

Outside of her compulsive lying, Kurori is a mild-mannered and generally passive individual, although she has had instances of losing her cool. She finds the Ufology Club to be a comforting place, thanks to her bond with the other two members. She has a close friendship with Rouya Gakemura, the two having known each other for a long time, and she is infatuated with Kogushi Kushinaka, with Rouya even speculating that her feelings might be romantic in nature. For that reason, Kurori is highly devastated by Kogushi's death, as shown by her reaction when she mistakes the crossdressing Choushi for the girl, immediately hugging him and yelling Kogushi's name.

She has a high level of disdain for Choushi Kushinaka, always trying to avoid dealing with him whenever possible, which Rouya believes to be due to jealousy for the boy being Kogushi's brother. She also tries to avoid Fuyako Togishima as much as possible, finding the girl hard to deal with thanks to her ability to detect lies. She appears to really dislike the nickname "Rori-senpai", despite Choushi always using it on her.

Appearance

Kurori is a teenage girl with blue eyes and long dark turquoise hair, tied at the back with a black ribbon. She is shown wearing the Kazusaen Academy uniform, consisting of a beige sailor uniform with a black tie and dark brown skirt.

Background

Kurori is childhood friends with Rouya Gakemura, the two having known each other for many years. For unknown reasons, as a child, she decided to only ever tell lies and never the truth, a principle she always upholds. During her time in middle school, she met and became infatuated with Kogushi Kushinaka, joining her in the Ufology Club alongside Rouya.

• Kurori's last name, Douno, is written with the characters for "child" and "plains".
• Kurori's first name means black logic.
• The kanji in her name contain the radical 里, meaning "village", in every direction: 童 at the bottom, 野 on the left, 黒 at the top and 理 on the right; this could be a nod to the reocurring motif of a "liar's village", which is associated with her.
