"After all, someone who does good things will feel good about themselves. Isn't that obvious?"
- — Kubimura
Kubimura (クビムラ, Kubimura) is the antagonist of one of the short stories in Oogiri. He is a representative of the Department of Global Space Countermeasures who showed up at Heitarou's house to retrieve Hako.
Personality[]
When initially seen, Kubimura acts pleasant and polite, in a professional manner. However, he has no hesitation to do bad things in order to achieve his objective, as he promptly ordered his men to hold Heitarou at gunpoint and ravage his house in search for the girl. Despite this antagonistic behavior, he is surprisingly nice to Heitarou, even after seeing that Hako is gone, making casual conversation with the boy and telling him that it's natural to feel good after doing good deeds. Although his means aren't very peaceful, it seems that Kubimura's intentions, as well as his organizations's, weren't entirely malicious ones.
Appearance[]
Kubimura is a middle aged man with long, neatly combed, light-colored hair and sharp eyes. He has a constantly furrowed brow and almost always dons a confident smirk. He wears a white suit over a white shirt with a black tie and black pants.
Background[]
After detecting that the Astroid Schrodinger has hit the Earth around Japan, Kubimura was tasked with finding the offspring of Biological Organism Nr. Seven, AKA Hako. He tracks the alien down to be living with Heitarou, and initially asks the young man nicely to give her over, before barging in with armed forces.
Quotes[]
- (Kubimura to Heitarou, when talking about a supposed cat the boy picked up) "Did the cat... run away from you? Well, even if they seem like a race you'd like to hug, that's wrong. They'll forget about someone like you right away."
- (Kubimura to Heitarou, when talking about delinquents doing occasional good deeds) "I would not get angry over something like that. After all, someone who does good things will feel good about themselves. Isn't that obvious?"
