Akira Akatsuki (暁月 あきら Akatsuki Akira) is a Japanese manga artist. His most notable work was as the illustrator for Nisio Isin's manga series Medaka Box.

Biography[]

Akira Akatsuki was born on August 18th, 1977. He used to be a part of the Doujin Circle RIRO LAND, where he worked under the pen name Kuuya (空鵺, Kūya). His most notable work was Medaka Box, for which he teamed up with Nisio Isin, from 2009-2013. The two later work together again for Shounen Shoujo, one of the one-shot chapters of Oogiri, and the manga adaptation of Juuni Taisen.

Style[]

Akira Akatsuki has a very unique and recognizable artstyle, which can be most easily seen in the way he poses his characters, his character's proportions, his angular hands and distinctive way he draws eyes, as well as the way in which he illustrates expressions.
